Chronic Illness doesn't take Holidays!

aarguin

This past Sunday on Easter my mom had to work so she couldn’t come over… my fiancé’s sister was supposed to stop by but timing didn’t work out… then a friend/neighbor a few streets over invited us over for her little eater gathering, but my body was too weak to get out of the house and make it. Once again, like so many holidays for the past 10 years, I spent it in the house, not able to go anywhere and participate in any activities. Holidays are a blaring example of the current state of my health… I find the “normal” workdays are the easier to bare because as I am trapped at my computer for most of the hours of the day due to fatigue and illness, many of my peers are for their jobs as well. But weekends and holidays still always cause some level of grieving and always will as I continue to remain here, at my desk, in my house, unable to participate in the life going on around me… in chronic illness life, there are no holidays or vacations.
